That’s me on the left, with my dad and my first-born son, Declan. It was 2016 – the day I married Megan. We put these paintings on our wedding invitations and displayed them on easels at the reception. It was only the second time his art was displayed in public. (More on the first time in a future blog post!)

I watch Antiques Roadshow and see how the appraisers are able to find information about an artist from a database or catalog of auctions. But no one would find anything about my dad. It was his hobby. He never sold a single piece and only gave away a few to family and friends.

When writing his obituary, I purposefully included a passing mention: “In retirement he furthered his hobby as an artist…” I thought at the time it could be the beginning of a record; maybe something an appraisers would find in the future.

This is my attempt at creating a real record of his work. I hope this website can be a record of his work and a way to get his paintings out to the world.

Megan and I, my brother, sister and mom have the walls of our homes covered with his art. So what do we do with the other 5,000 paintings and carvings and how do we make him famous?
